WWE Divas - Are there any divas left that can actually wrestle?
Over the past 2 years it seems the state of pro women's wrestling has greatly disintegrated. The WWE suffered a big loss with the departure of WWE Diva Trish Stratus. Trish Stratus, without a doubt, was an icon in the world of women's wrestling. Trish was arguably the best female wrestler to ever grace the squared circle. Now with Trish Stratus removed from the WWE, there are only a handful of decent female wrestlers left. Amy Dumas aka Lita is one of them wrestlers. However, it has been heavily rumored that Lita will be retiring from the WWE as well. Lita has also immensely toned down her mexican-luchador wrestling style. Nonetheless, if the rumors are true, the world of professional woman's wrestling would be suffering another huge loss.
I would say from 2001-2004, women's wrestling really made it's way back on the map. The WWE roster contained many great female competitors during this period. I mean you had Jazz, Nora Greenwald (Molly Holly), Gail Kim, Victoria, and of course Lita & Trish Stratus just to name a few. What credible professional female wrestlers are left? In TNA, I believe Gail Kim is the only decent female wrestler in the company. Unfortunately, for the most part, Gail has been limited to being a manager. In the WWE there are WWE Divas Victoria, Mickie James, and perhaps Jillian Hall. Victoria has so much wrestling ability, and in my opinion, is the most deserving of holding the WWE Women's Championship. I hear that Beth Pheonix is a really hard worker, and potentially a great wrestler. I also hear the same of Melina Perez. Most of the remaining WWE Divas are a bunch of former diva search contestants who mainly make up the T & A factor. Now as a webmaster of a WWE Divas site, I certainly am appreciative of the beauty these women possess. I just feel these woman could and should be used in a more effective way.
It seems that all of the great female wrestlers out there are working in the independent circuit. The WWE and/or TNA could snatch these ladies up whenever they want. The only question that remains is why haven't they done so yet? Well, unfortunately, it seems professional women's wrestling isn't a high priority nowadays. It seems in their eyes, T & A is much more over with the fans than seeing these women wrestle. So I ask you, the wrestling fan, what would you rather see? Is women's wrestling dead? Will it ever be resurrected to the state it was a few years back? The answer lies in the hands of time.

Women's Wrestling? That's right. And why not? Contact sports like women's wrestling are not for everyone, but the ladies that do it, do it because the love it. Why do they love it? Well, being that I have been in the sport for over 25yrs, and having made a living from it, I think it is safe to say that I know a thing or two about it.
